How Ticket-Specific Mahjong Event Waitlists Work
How Pro hosts and players use waitlists when one ticket option sells out but other seats remain available.
Availability belongs to each ticket option
A multi-ticket event can have a sold-out beginner table while guided play or advanced open play still has room. Mah-Join changes only the full ticket to join waitlist and leaves the other options available for checkout.
Waitlisting is not a purchase
Joining a waitlist does not charge the player or create a confirmed RSVP. The player and host receive email confirmations. When a seat becomes available, Mah-Join emails the active waitlist for that ticket, but the seat is not held and checkout is still required.
See active demand from the listing
When an active waitlist exists, the host sees a waitlist pill beside the event details. Opening it shows the waitlisted players grouped by ticket option. The pill stays hidden when no one is waiting.
Opening seats does not remove other guests
Hosts can add capacity to a full ticket without changing confirmed RSVPs. Cancellations and eligible refunds release seats, while the waitlist remains a separate list of interested players until they reserve.
